Morning Walk at Goose Island

Posted by on March 15, 2012

Unlike Padre island which is a sandy barrier island, Goose island is surrounded by marshes, shallow bays and oyster beds. We spent two nights at Goose Island State Park and on our first morning we walked out to the fishing pier to meet the rising sun. (Click on the picture to see a larger view.)

The morning light was temping us, and a little walkway in the distance called.

This house was properly sited to enjoy every sunrise.

The light and the sea were in perfect concert. Everyday this happens. Amazing.

The sun rose right in the center of the arch in the pier.

The pier was just illuminated as we stepped onto it, a path above a watery domain.

The pier led us off into the sunrise.

The moring was cool but the sun warmed us and welcomed us to another day on our fantastic blue planet.
