We specialize in canal boat tours in France. Nothing is more satisfying or more relaxing than sipping a glass of fine wine as you glide along the canal which passes through the vineyards that grew the grapes which you now enjoy. Not only will you get to experience some of France’s best wines, they will be plentiful and inexpensive.
Each morning fresh bread, strong coffee, and the beauty of the French countryside will greet you, and every evening you’ll sleep in a comfortable bed in your own traveling home. Visiting rural France via canal boat provides a perspective few ever get to see.
In 2013 we traveled the canals of Northern Burgundy. We enjoyed the Canal du Nivernais which winds through the Chablis wine region and has the reputation of being one of the prettiest canals in France. We also cruised the Canal du Lateral a la Loire which took us through the upper Loire river valley and into the Sancerre and Pouilly wine growing regions. In these regions we tasted Crémant de Bourgogne, Chablis, Sancerre, Pouilly, and regional Bourgogne wines that are generally unavailable to us in North America.
In 2014 we visited the Canal du Midi and the Camargue. Join us in 2016 and let us take the worry out of planning a trip to France. We’ll take care of everything. Visit our Destination Description page for more cruising details and our Tour Dates page for more details on traveling in 2016 and beyond.
