My group just wants you to know that we thoroughly enjoyed the class/dinner last night—it was awesome! We are definitely beginners in wine education, but we all picked up some helpful tools to assist in advancing our wine education! You both are fantastic hosts and it was a very comfortable setting. We had a fantastic time and learned so much too! Dave’s mastery of wine tasting, production, history, regions are evident, but what truly makes the class are his genuine enthusiasm for wine education, and thriving passion for entertaining. Taking a class with Dave is an incredibly fun way to gain an appreciation of the art/science of wine while also developing a more subtle palate.
Through the classes, I was able to learn the subtleties of how wine interacts with the senses while roaming around the world of wine– region by region– and through a full gamut of grapes beyond the standard varietals. Straightforward handouts helped me to retain the information so I could gain a better understanding of what my personal preferences are in wine. Valued, to me, above the education that was imparted in this class, is the amount of pure fun that we all had. ~Erika F

An evening spent with wine educator, David Devere, is an enlightening and lovely experience for the senses. He exudes an extremely contagious and passionate enthusiasm for wine. Thanks to his tutelage, I now recognize the beauty in taking a moment to truly savor a glass of wine, aware of its aromas and flavors. His rather impressive in-house charts and handouts helped me to better understand how to rate a wine. By using them, I have a far greater appreciation for all wines — some of which I had once dismissed due to personal preference. I’ve also become far less intimidated by wine lists at restaurants, especially those that include French wines. It’s amazing how many wines I’ve tried and enjoyed since taking classes with him. We’ve attended several of Sara and David’s educational wine tasting parties. They are first and foremost very well orchestrated. The written materials are thorough and organized to be great reference tools long after the gathering. The event itself is relaxed but structured. We’ve participated in both the nose training and the wine tasting. The evenings are always very social and the array of food allows one to try multiple pairings with each wine. Can’t think of an easier, more delicious way to learn about wine! ~Kris & Carolyn K

The wine class was really fun and really interesting. Dave really knows his stuff and he and Sara have the thing worked out so well it just flows and is very seamless. ~Noah M
